Sunday morning, I woke up early and oblivious to the world and to the day's significance. After about two hours of work, it came to me...IT WAS MY ANNIVERSARY! You would think that after 29 years, I would remember. Ha! You would be wrong! So I worked up my courage and wished my wife a Happy Anniversary. A look of shock washed across her face and, lo and behold, she had not remembered either! We really do make a perfect match. Luckily, we live in a wonderful area to improvise a day of celebration. We are close to so many great areas and on our day, we decided to enjoy the city of Rio Vista.
We started off at The Point Restaraunt for a tasty meal with a great view of the Delta.
We also visited another very cool, historic bar and restaurant, Foster's Bighorn Restaurant. The 1930's original owner was a hunter and the restaurant showcases over 300 African and American animals. There are also pictures of many of his adventures on the walls. It is like a museum, plus the restaurant serves good food and has great beer on tap.
Rio Vista is a fun little town for fishing, wind surfing, boating, golfing, camping and even some great wine tasting. It turned out to be a fun place for us to visit and celebrate. On thing is for sure, though, I better not forget next year or 30 years could be it. I better start planning next year's adventure right now. Any ideas?
