Real Estate Ray's Blog: Pickleball at the Oasis, Elk Grove

Pickleball at the Oasis, Elk Grove

We have some great new Pickleball courts here in Elk Grove at the new Oasis Park.  It is located at 8015 Poppy Ridge Rd., East of Bruceville road, just off Whitelock parkway.  There are six courts available and the courts do have lights.  We have played there several times.  The players are friendly, welcoming and competitive.

There are also two new, well lit tennis courts to enjoy as well ( Brian England, if you ever make it to Elk Grove ).  The dog park is also open, but the main park is still closed.  The rest of the park should open soon and it looks like it will be a great park for the whole family to enjoy.

Another fun park for daytime pickleball is Horseshoe Park.  There are two pickleball courts marked on one of the tennis courts.  You do need to bring your own net, though.  The kids will love this park too.  Horseshoe park has two large play areas for them unless, of course, they want to try their hand at Pickleball.

Are you looking to join a group that plays Pickleball?  Our Runnin for Rhett meetup group meets regularly to play at Oasis Park and Horseshoe Park.

I hope to see you on the courts soon!

That looks like a very nice facility and I would definitely enjoy playing tennis there!

I have never played pickleball.

Take care, be safe and have an outstanding January.

Sounds like a lot of fun, Ray... althought I don't think I totally get what pickleball is all about.

Kathy Streib, I fought my dad for year about playing pickleball, then one day he practically forced us to play.  We discovered that it is very fun and we play a couple of times a week now.

One of these day, Brian England.  The tennis courts are nice and not nearly so crowded.

You are always so positive, Roy Kelley.  Thank you and may you have an outstanding Jan. and year!

Hi Nina Hollander, I certainly did not understand it.  Like I said above, my dad practically dragged me out to the courts.  It is the fastest growing sport across the country right now.  It really is a fun game, part tennis, part badminton with a little ping pong thrown in.  It can be played singles, but is mostly played doubles and really, it is fun at just about every skill level.

That looks like a wonderful way to play and get exercise. I've never played, but I'm intrigued - used to play tennis an racquetball long ago.

Your experience with tennis and racquetball would be invaluable.  If you liked those two sports, my bet is that you would like Pickleball.  It is fun Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD.  Mary Margaret and I may play in our first tournament this year.  We make a good team!
